Samantha Olivia
A story of resilience, courage, and redemption.
A future not defined by the past.
Samantha’s story is one of resilience, courage, and redemption. Born in Communist Cuba, she came to the United States with her parents at just six years old, crossing the ocean on a homemade raft. At twelve, she became a victim of human trafficking, enduring sixteen years of exploitation before finding freedom at twenty-eight. That freedom marked the beginning of a journey of healing and restoration. Through her relationship with Jesus Christ, Samantha discovered that her past did not define her worth or limit her future.
Today, Samantha’s faith shapes both her recovery and her purpose. Having experienced the vulnerability of being overlooked, she has a deep concern for young people who lack support and guidance. She wants to reach them before others take advantage of their circumstances, helping them recognize their worth and see possibilities beyond the challenges they face.
Preparing to serve the next generation.
As a first-generation college student pursuing business management, Samantha is preparing to turn that commitment into meaningful service. Her dream is to equip young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to become leaders in their own communities. She sees her education not simply as a path toward personal achievement, but as preparation to help others reach their God-given potential.
In September 2026, Samantha was awarded a Faith Lives scholarship and welcomed as a Faith Lives Fellow. Through scholarship support and spiritual and professional mentorship, Faith Lives is honored to support her academic and professional journey. As she takes this next step in faith, Samantha carries a clear purpose: to offer others the hope and comfort she has received from God.
